Allied Surveyors Scotland
In late 1997 a group of eight independent Scottish Surveyor firms with 32 offices and over 80 Chartered Surveyors throughout Scotland had come together in order to offer clients the combination of local expertise and personal experience with corporate organisation and efficiency.
At the same time Allied Surveyors development team were actively seeking suitable firms in Scotland in order to complete all Allied Surveyors UK coverage. Mutual clients effected a meeting and the Scottish representatives were soon able to recommend to their colleagues that they should twin with the longer established organisations from England and Wales.
Although it appeared at first that the Scots could simply have joined the established Allied Surveyors plc, it was realised that logistics and the differences in property law and practices between the two countries were such that it was important to retain a separate organisation in Scotland and so Allied Surveyors Scotland plc was created.
Allied Surveyors Scotland plc is, therefore, a separate Scottish owned company controlled from Glasgow headquarters.
The Scottish and English counterparts share Code of Practice, Quality Control and Professional Indemnity protocols and a close working relationship between the two groups has now been forged not only at Director level but by steadily increasing co-operation between 32 Scottish offices and the 90 Allied offices in England and Wales.
Everyone involved now believes that the enormous benefits with this “Cross Border” co-operation is bringing to the two Allied firms will also benefit their clients and a wider public.
The various branch offices of Souter & Jaffrey initially joined the Allied Surveyors Scotland chain in 1998. However the formal name change to Allied Surveyors was introduced in January 2005 which effectively means that all Valuation services are carried by Allied Surveyors Scotland from the various branch offices.
